BK Seng has a PhD in Social Science from the NUS and is registered Social Worker with the SASW. She is also an Honorary Professor with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) where she had been a professor, vice dean and head of the social work cluster. Prior to her academia stint, she had been involved in mental health and had headed the social work department at IMH for a long period before she joined SUSS.
She had received her family therapy training at the Tavistock Clinic in London via a Colombo Plan Scholarship and had received her training in addiction at the Stanford University Alcohol Treatment Centre and the St Mary’s Chemical Dependency Centre in Minneapolis USA.
Her area of research in includes mental health, caregiving, addiction, psychological distress and resilience during the Covid 19 pandemic and other social-work related issues.
